DON'T Throw Away Your Old Saw Blades! // Make This Knife.

HERE are the Jig Saw blades and Epoxy we used!

Hey Guys, today were turning an old saw blade into a beautiful knife! This project can be made with minimal tools and is a lot easier to make than you’d think! We’re no metal workers but we are pretty impressed by the outcome. We are super excited to see all of the different styles of knives you guys are going to make!

  1. I’m a hobbyist knife maker. I use saw blades for them. If you can file the saw blade it won’t make a good knife without heat treating it. I use an angle grinder with a cut off wheel to cut out the blanks. Go very slow on the knife edge side so you don’t burn the steel which will ruin the edge retention of the knife. I spray it with water between cuts.

  2. I would wager the reason your jigsaw blade got so roughed up is because the blade wheel is heat treated and hardened.

  3. Does the edge last? No heat treatment needed? Not fault finding here, admire your skill and constant attention to safety. 😎
