You’re awesome!!
Good job!
I feel pretty good about the craftsman set i bought. Its the exact same in the video. Average price for average performance, does everything I need it to and its saved me a lot of money.
I like the craftsman box you can add more Sockets and other stuff in the room between things
Prior to GearWrench I was depressed at the horrible selection and setup of the previous kits. After GearWench appeared, I have started wondering if you get what you pay for.
Now to see if Todd can break the expensive kit.
I’d like to see the Quinn set (Harbor Freight item# 58154 tested if this is a revisited subject in later episodes.
Of all the kits on the market, that one seems like the best value to me because it’s 428 pieces, but unlike nearly every other kit out there, less than 90 pieces are bits and Alan wrenches. 231 pieces are sockets, 45 are wrenches.
I’m curious to see how solid the included tools are.
Tanks
Hart 215 piece for $94 is better than all those 🤔why didn’t you test it also?
I got the Husky 270 piece for $100 around Father’s Day time. Now that’s the steal of the century!
I’d subscribe if he’d stop yelling all the time. Ffs.
i understand that its not the point but 19mm and 3/4 inch are the same size and interchangeable so in my mind only including only one is an acceptable cost cutting measure. as always excellent video.
Nice job. I have the Stanley set sold by Canadian Tire. They often go on sale for 60% off (which is probably their true value)
Have broken a few items over time, but they actually include the full range of metric sockets 4mm up to 21mm. No wrenches included, but all the rest is there.
One thing I hate is that the bottom half is unsecured, so if you accidentally open it upside-down, all the stuff goes everywhere!
As a Mechanic watching the Wrenches being put on wrong during the pressure test was rough.
Lately I’ve gone on a binge of getting rid of all the stupid cases, at least for tools I keep in my car always or on road trips. A couple handfuls of canvas tool bags and canvas tool pouches, save A LOT of room, a bit of weight, and allow me to remove totally useless sizes, add in my own choice of other adapters, extensions, oddball sizes, etc. Just removing SAE sizes saves me a ton of space/weight in my Toyota, and lets me make a separate pouch for things like SAE nuts/bolts around the house.
Oh, no, now he’ll build some devices for poking, scraping, overstuffing, and cutting canvas tool pouches/bags. See if Cousin Eddie busts a zipper.
When watching this sounds like a sport 🤣🤣 talking about skill levels past future goals scores they got
I watch just about every single video this guy publishes. Good info and recommendations. Been looking for a starter set; guess I’m watching for deals on gear wrench.
Edit: Wow, the prices from what he says to today are crazy different. Dewalt was 159 then, but its 205 at least on sale now. Same with Husky….

Now do Snap-On?
I got the gearwrench one. It’s worth every penny. My only regret is that I ordered the 12 point sockets.
Dang, these things aren’t that worth it. Building your own is so much better.
I’ve accumulated a lot of tools over the past 25 years, but it’s tempting to grab something for road trips that I could use for emergencies. The Gearwrench toolkit is attractive!
Love that little tool box
Buy the Craftsman tool sets for the sockets then buy either a Icon or Quinn ratchets and Pittsburgh wrenches for the best value in your toolbox. This is what I did and I am more than pleased with what I have.
@ProjectFarm I would like to see you test the Harbor Freight ICON & QUINN sets!
Can you test blue point by snap on, silver eagle by Matco, expert my Mactools, duralast by autozone, power torque by oreilly, and die hard by advanced AutoParts?
kislux I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter
Which one has the most value ?
Awesome great detail leaves no doubt….Thanks
best impact socket set?
That first toolkit is the first step. Still have my Stanley set from Walmart I got on sale for $40 and I’ve changed about everything on my vehicles all the way to pulling and rebuilding motors. Best $40 I ever spent.
You should do a full build out video like you did at the end here. With all the top brands from previous videos. Maybe a small, portable version like this and a larger one for home.
Could you do a video where you pick your recommended tools for everyday use that totals the same price as these holiday kits? Bonus if you can squeeze in a toolbox. Or make a competition between ten different viewers and you judge the best.
Man, it’s hard to convince me most of these sets aren’t made in the same factory.
I have that exact Dewalt set. I absolutely love it. It’s 192 pieces of actual sockets and accessories. No bits. The sockets are excellent quality and the ratchets are very comfortable with gloves. 1000% recommend this set.
Why isnt their a Japanese tool kit in 2024?
I only watch Project Farm because I want this guy to be rich.
This channel is invaluable.
Your channel is so beneficial to people living in usa
You do a great channel.
For americans, you have a great channel.
I own the older version of the Kobalt set. The tool box is absolute garbage. They clearly did not fix the problem with the new version.
I find your videos to be very beneficial and valuable. I bought a suitcase-style tool kit a couple years back and sockets would often fall out of their space when moving the tools. I’ll never buy that style again.
no 14 means not a mechanics set imho
I’ve used a lot of these brands and I think I like husky the most, Home Depot’s are every where and they’ll replace any broken tool for free
Its not a normal set but long ago, my Dad purchased a "Metrinch" set from an info-mercial. I it is my go to set 90% of the time. If you get the chance I’d love to see a PF on that!
My advice if you want a cheap set, buy the set and use the savings to buy a decent toolbox or pack out system for storage/transport instead. The cases all suck
Thank you you explain very well
Some skipped the metric sizes that overlap with SAE.
Taiwan only has 23 million people. There is no way they produce everything attributed to them. It is all repackaged from China.
Pretty much all my wrenches, ratchets, and sockets are all gearwrench. Great tools. I keep a 3/8th 24pc kit in my Jeep along with a few extras.
Thank you so much for these reviews, I really have learned a lot from them. Have you considered doing a test of impact rated sockets?
